Francisco Neto reveals call of the Selection with three news
Telma Encarnação, Monique Gonçalves and Ana Santos make their debut in the team roster.
After the good performance at the Four Nations Tournament earlier this month in China, Francisco Neto has released the squad of the National Women’s National Team for another stage that will take place between November 5 and 13.
Among the players named, Telma Encarnação (Marítimo), Monique Gonçalves (Ouriense) and Ana Santos (Ouriense) stand out for the team’s team of opponents.
During this period, Portugal will play three preparation matches. The first will be against the United States on 8 October at Estoril, followed by two matches against Wales on 10 November at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Stadium in Rio Maior and three days later at the Estádio Municipal José Martins Vieira, in Cova da Piedade, at 3:00 p.m.
Francisco Neto insisted on emphasizing the importance of these three tests and admitted that this stage will serve to analyze each of the players. “These three matches, with the United States and Wales, are very important, as are all we will do until the start of qualifying for the Euro 2021. This is the time to evaluate the players, the training and the games so that we get strong in the qualifying phase, “he began by saying, in declarations to the website of the Portuguese Football Federation.
The selector made a point of emphasizing that this “is an open group” and is attentive to all players. “It’s a group where players can always reach out to what they do in the clubs or in the young teams, and let us understand that they are useful to Team A. This allows us to observe in training, play and training other footballers, which is very useful ten months from the start of the qualifying. In this call, Cláudia Neto will not be with us because we understand that it made sense to respond to a request from the player herself, “he explained.
