Francisco Sassetti, three decades at the piano culminate in unmissable concerts in 2025
After securing the first part of Wim Mertens’ concerts in the 2023 edition of MistyFest and releasing the album Home, which sold out three sessions under his name at the São Luiz Teatro Municipal, Francisco Sassetti returns to the stage with a new artistic proposal.
This time, he will present Home Felt Piano in Lisbon at Casa da Música in Porto and the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB). It is a show that represents a revisit to the Home album that will be published in 2025.
A story told to the piano
Francisco Sassetti is distinguished by his unique ability to transform personal and everyday experiences into engaging musical narratives. Inspired by his travels between musical styles, he creates true tales on the piano in intimate storytelling that touches the audience’s heart.
His music is part of the neoclassical movement, a minimalist aspect that dialogues with names such as Arvo Pärt, Wim Mertens, Michael Nyman and Ludovico Einaudi. This style combines influences of classical music, jazz and soundtracks, creating a unique and emotional experience.
Three decades of artistic excellence
With more than 30 years of career, Francisco Sassetti is an unmissable name in the Portuguese classical scene. Throughout his career, he has performed in countries such as France, Belgium, Germany, the United States, Spain and Uruguay, collaborating with some of the best national and international musicians. Recorded a dozen records, including projects alongside Maria João and Ute Lemper, among others.
In addition to being a pianist, he is a professor at the Lisbon School of Music and the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, composer, choir director and creator of musical theatre pieces. His versatility has led him to take part in cabaret shows and even a symphonic rock band, showing a passion for music in all its forms.
Francisco Sassetti is preparing to start the year with two concerts that will be a unique opportunity to witness the mastery of an artist who continues to redefine the contemporary musical panorama.
