Frederico Morais advances to third round in Peniche
The Portuguese surfer Frederico Morais today qualified for the third round of the Meo Rip Curl Pro Portugal, 10th and penultimate stage of the world circuit, after beating the Brazilian Yago Dora in the recap.
The Portuguese athlete, 22nd in the world rankings, avenged a defeat in the repechage of last stage in France, taking the best on Yago, winning 11.44 points (5.67 and 5.77) against the 9.16 (2.93 and 6.23) of the Brazilian, who is a place ahead of ‘Kikas’ in the hierarchy and ‘fight’ equally to remain in the surf elite next season.
Meo Rip Curl Pro Portugal’s waiting period lasts until October 27, at Supertubos beach in Peniche, Leiria district.
