Frederico Morais eliminated by Gabriel Medina on the world surf circuit

The Portuguese Frederico Morais was eliminated this Thursday from the Newcastle Cup, the second stage of the world surfing circuit, after being defeated in the round of 16 by the Brazilian Gabriel Medina

In a race that took place in New South Wales, Australia, ‘Kikas’, as the Portuguese is known, finished in the first heat of the round of 16 with 8.33 points (5.50 and 2.83 in the two best waves) , losing to the Brazilian surfer, world champion in 2014 and 2018, who scored 12.93 (8.50 and 4.43).

With this defeat, Frederico Morais ends the race in ninth place, improving the 17th place won in the first stage, held in Hawaii, which should be worth a rise in the ranking.

The next stage of the world surfing circuit will also take place in Australia. This time it will be in North Narrabeen, near Sydney, and will take place between 16 and 26 April.
