Frederico Silva heads to quarter-finals in Shenzhen

Portuguese tennis player Frederico Silva, 13th seed, qualified today for the quarter-final of the Shenzhen Challenger in China, defeating Tseng Chun-hsin of Taiwan.

The Portuguese, 202th in the world ranking, beat Tseng Chun-hsin, 340th, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-4 in three hours and 10 minutes.

In the next round, Frederico Silva will face Jason Sung, also from Taiwan, who occupies the 133rd position of the world hierarchy.
