Frederico Silva qualifies for the second round of the Bangalore tournament

Portuguese tennis player Frederico Silva has qualified for the second round of the Bangalore challenger by beating Serbian Danilo Petrovic in three sets for his first-ever Indian Grand Prix.

Frederico Silva, 292nd place in the world ranking, won the first set by 6-3, but the Serbian, 296th in the hierarchy, was forced into the second set by the same margin, before the Portuguese closed the encounter, with 6-4, after two hours and two minutes of confrontation.

In the second round, equivalent to the last 16, Frederico Silva will face the winner of the game between the Swedish Elias Ymer and the German Daniel Masur, 132nd and 291st, ranked in the ATP ranking, respectively.
