Barcelos Riverfront hosts the 6th edition of the River Blues Festival

The River Blues Festival returns to Barcelos, on the Frente Ribeirinha, with two shows included in the city’s summer schedule – “P’rá Frente Barcelos”.

After the success of the four previous editions, and with a growing audience, this festival seeks to give a new visibility to Barcelos in this area of ​​music, investing in a quality event that complements the cultural offer of the county, which in itself is renowned for its dynamism in terms of rock and pop bands.

The Festival starts on August 26, at 9 pm, with “The Hurt Fingers” and “Par Azar”.

On August 27, at 9 pm, it is the turn of the band “Peter Storm & The Blues Society”, the most charismatic and complete blues band in Portugal, to take the stage at Frente Ribeirinha to share songs and stories from the universe of blues composed by José Reis, on bass, Jorge Mister Shuffle Oliveira, on drums, Bino Ribeiro, on harmonica and percussion, and João Belchior, on voice and guitar.

In previous editions, names such as Jean-Paul Rena, Quantic Mode, Minneman Blues Band, L-Blues, António Mão de Ferro, Just Soul Orchestra, Budda Power Blues, Nuno Andrade, Blues Drive, Vítor Bacalhau, The Smokestackers and L- Blues.

River Blues is promoted by the Municipality of Barcelos, with the participation of a company and an event producer.

All shows are free of charge, but can be booked in advance through the ticket office at Theatro Gil Vicente, or on the day of the show. The ticket is collected within 1 hour before the show and reservations expire 15 minutes before the start of the show. The space has limited capacity and complies with all DGS rules.
