Fu Manchu, Amenra, Circle Jerks among the first confirmed of Sonic Blast Fest 2025

The 13th edition of Sonic Blast Fest returns to Caldeirões Dune Beach, in Âncora, from August 7 to 9 and now confirms the first 14 names on the 2025 poster.

The first batch of confirmed artists are Fu Manchu, Amenra, Circle Jerks, Earthless, Emma Ruth Rundle, My Sleeping Karma, Dopethrone, Slomosa, Jjuujjuu, Patriarchy, Gnome, Same Area, Daevar and Spoon Benders.

Californians Fu Manchu are heading the first announcement of Sonic Blast Fest, a legendary American stoner rock band from the 90s that is still active and releasing important albums within the genre, proof of this is the latest album of this year’s The Return of Tomorrow. The lyrics are all inspired by topics like arcades, muscle cars of the 70’s, myths and UFOs.

Another of the big weights in this announcement is Amenra, a Belgian post-metal band from Kortrijk that promises an overwhelming experience and communion by Âncora, a quasi-faith experience, with records like Alive, Mass and the latest De Doorn in their luggage.

Punk continues to be a bet of Sonic Blast Fest and in this first announcement could not be better represented than by the Circle Jerks, 79 band from Hermosa Beach in California (USA), considered one of the pioneers of hardcore punk with records like Group Sex and Wild in the Streets. Simple and fast songs with minimum durations, on average little more than a minute, promise to raise the pace in Âncora and take the audience on a journey through the musical satire of American punk.

Also in this announcement, we have a continuous bet on the most diverse genres that fit into a festival like the Sonic Blast Fest in 2025: Earthless, playing the full Sonic Prayer, guitar and poetry by Emma Ruth Rundle, the hypnotic trips of the Germans My Sleeping Karma, the sludge metal of Canadian Dopethrone, the rock straight out of the Norwegian tundra of Slomosa, the verve of emerging psychedelic of Jjuujjuu that will pass through the Primavera Sound Barcelona before anchoring in Sonic Blast, the LA band, the Patriarchy, that combine the electronic pulsating dance with overwhelming industrial vibrations and suffocating noise, among many others.

Garboyl Lives – promoter and organizer of the festival – announced the festival for 7, 8 and 9 August 2025. The warm-up day is to happen at 6. The venue continues to combine several of the experiences that have already become an elementary part of all Sonic Blast Fest: beach, field, river, pine and riffs, many, many riffs.

The general passes are now available, and the early bird price is already sold out.

The 2024 edition was the first in Âncora that sold out all types of passes (general and daily), thus counting more than 15 thousand people in the venue over the 3 days of the festival. These numbers are joined by nearly 3,000 entries on the warm-up and fan reception day.
