Funil & Abelhinha are back with “SKAStress”, the third single from the album Isso é tudo verdade, released last year.
After “A Vida é Isto”, released in 2023, and “É Só Camones”, with the collaboration of Luís Varatojo (Peste & Sida, Despe & Siga, Luta Livre, A Naifa, Fandango, Linha de Frente) in 2024, The band reinforces the celebration of its 20-year career with a new track marked by the fusion of ska and rock, the same energy as always and a message full of irony and social criticism.
“SKAStress” is an anthem for everyone who feels trapped in the frenetic cycle of everyday life, but finds a way to free themselves through music and dance. Verses like “I only get out of bed looking for ‘Maria Joana’” and “If the boss gets rich, I’ll stay in a thong but with topless fashion” reflect the reality of a generation that balances precarious work and searches for moments of authenticity.
The critique of capitalism and the celebration of self-expression make this song a cry of resistance packed with danceable rhythms, reinforced by a chorus that promises to stick in your head: “This is just Skastress, if you dance it disappears, ska ska ska”. The new single also comes with a music video that translates the irony and intensity of the theme into images.

With “SKAStress”, Funil & Abelhinha confirm the vitality that has characterized them since their formation in Arganil, in 2004. Music, Sun and Life brought this group of friends together in a band whose “RudeBoy” spirit was inspired by Despe & Siga and by names like Reel Big Fish, The Specials, Sublime or The Interrupters. Over two decades, Funil & Abelhinha toured festivals in Portugal and Spain, sharing the stage with bands such as Bad Manners, Skalibans, Xutos & Pontapés, Fita Cola, Iris and Mata-Ratos. “Isso é tudo verdade” marks the band’s first full-length album, bringing together original songs that express their way of being and living life, in a musical wave that is both cheerful and critical at the same time.
The single “SKAStress” is now available on all digital platforms and promises to heat the next shows of Funil & Abelhinha, who invite everyone to leave stress aside and join the party. The next dates can be checked on the band’s social networks.
