Futurália returns to FIL with conferences, workshops and recruitment actions

Education and lifelong learning, education for the digital and ecological transition, and personal development are some of the topics highlighted in the next edition of Futurália, which runs from March 22nd to 25th.

In addition to the educational offer, talks, and workshops are organized for students, highlighting the Employment and Employability area with training and on-site recruitment actions. The re-edition of the ‘Professor’s Room’, ‘Futurália Outdoor Arts’, and the ‘Futurália Ambassadors’ are other novelties in this 14th edition, which once again does not leave out academic experiences and international internships.

Promoted by the AIP Foundation, Futurália, the largest education, training, and employability fair in the country, is back at FIL, from March 22nd to 25th. Under the motto “No one has left behind. Education for All” and with a strong focus on sustainability in education and lifelong learning, the event focuses, this year, on education for the digital transition, presenting new offers and training proposals for students, young graduates, and adults, employees or looking for new opportunities. There are talks and workshops aimed at students and, in the Employment and Employability area, various personal development actions, personal and professional coaching, and training, aimed at young adults and adults, with recruitment actions taking place at the event. In view of the success registered, the ´Sala do Professor´, an exclusive space for teachers will be maintained. The ´Futurália Outdoor Arts´, a space that aims to promote urban culture; and the ‘Futurália Ambassadors’, students who actively participate in publicizing and promoting the event in the digital environment, are new features in this 2023 edition. education, training, employment, and youth.

“Never has the importance of continuous training been so necessary as it is today, both for those who employ and for the workers themselves”, says Alzira Ferreira, manager of Futurália. “The digital and ecological transitions have accelerated changes in the way we live, learn, and work, which is why it is imperative to update knowledge, skills, and competencies to bridge the gap between the training we have and the demands of a rapidly evolving job market. At Futurália we have the greatest representation in terms of national higher education, and professional training and now, and more than ever, we also want to promote, and more and more, adult education, especially with regard to the digital transition and the reinforcement of skills ”, he concludes.

The usual spaces dedicated to Higher Education in Portugal, Secondary Education, Post-Secondary Education, Adult Education and Training, Professional Schools, Technological Schools, Training Centers and Companies, Colleges, Study Abroad – foreign and international universities, Institutions offering training, and the Espaço Juventude, remain in this 14th edition of Futurália. “For those who want to have an international academic experience, it should be noted that faculties from countries such as Poland, Malta, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, United States, and Australia, among others, will be represented”, advances Alzira Ferreira. “Regarding entities that promote scholarships, we have already confirmed the presence of ‘Next Level’ and ‘Fulbright’, with scholarships for the US, and we will also have ‘Erasmus+’, which will bring professional internships abroad, whether for young people and adults”, says the event manager. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also be present with the offer of internships in supervised entities.

The Employment and Employability area, operating on the 24th and 25th of March, in the Multipurpose Pavilion, will bring together employers and Human Resources companies. In addition to boosting actions related to recruitment, this space, aimed at those who want to get an internship, their first job, change jobs, or even careers promotes interactivity and networking among participants and a series of actions and workshops training for employability. “Conquering your job” with Psychologist Alexandra Monteiro, or “The importance of living our vocation”, by Coach Hugo Morais, are some examples of workshops that will take place in this space.

The ‘Teacher’s Room’, a “reprise” of the last edition, is an exclusive area for teachers where they can rest, socialize and work when accompanying their students on field trips. This space also has some dynamization actions designed for teachers. ‘Futurália Outdoor Arts’ will bring urban culture to the fair’s outdoor area: musical performances, DJs, dancing, painting, and fun games. All young people, individually or in groups, can participate in their artistic projects, by simply registering on the Futurália website. Lastly, the ‘Futurália Ambassadors’ are Secondary, Professional, or Higher Education students who are producing content to publicize and promote the event on the Futurália website and on social networks. In addition to video content, they are also invited to write articles to be published on the event’s platforms.
