Gala Amália takes place in October in the coliseums
The galas will be held on October 4, at the Coliseu do Porto and, on the 9th, at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, with the fadistas being accompanied by musicians Pedro de Castro, on the Portuguese guitar, André Ramos, on the viola, and Jaime Santos, on bass.
The cast also includes Lúcia Moniz, who will recite poems by Amália Rodrigues (1920-1999). Other artists will be announced soon
The FAR is carrying out an inventory of all of Amália’s assets under its custody, both documentary and artistic, and plans to open the archives for public consultation, through digital media.
The collection of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation (FAR) includes several pieces of art, including portraits of the fado singer by Maluda, Eduardo Malta and Luís Pinto-Coelho, in addition to decorative pieces of art, and varied documentation, from schedules to correspondence and photographs of the artist.
FAR owns as a house-museum the former residence of Amália, in Lisbon, and its summer property in Brejão, in Odemira, in the district of Beja.
