Yesterday, space 8 Marvila hosted Gisela João’s big party, Gisela 10 Years marks the date of Gisela’s first album, and as always she won over the public with her friendliness, sincerity and music.
Gisela celebrates 10 years with the album of the same name, which revealed her to Portugal, since that time the Portuguese artist has won over the public, with each new song, with each concert, and this show is proof of that, an audience surrendered to the singer since the first chord, the artist took the stage a little late, but it was well worth the wait.
It was a sold-out room that welcomed her, 8 Marvila, a new space, with 22,000 m2 recovered and transformed, which aims to be a new emerging experience of culture, commerce and art, which can be a new dynamic space that culture can take advantage of to grow and giving space to artists from the most diverse areas, whether established or emerging, a little cold at this time, will be ideal in spring and summer.
At the concert Gisela sang not only the songs from her first album but also her best-known songs, they had her space, accompanied by the audience who know all her songs.
Gisela took the opportunity to thank everyone who has accompanied her over these 10 years, men and especially women, “who make the music industry move forward” said the artist.
On stage Gisela João was joined by Ricardo Parreira on Portuguese Guitar, Nelson Aleixo on Classical Guitar, Francisco Gaspar on Bass Guitar, Luís Pereira on Keys, Synthetizers and Justin Stanton on Keys and Synthetizers, known as a member of the North American band Snarky Puppy and winner of 4 Grammy awards, companion of the artist, who was entitled to a beautiful declaration of love on stage, from Gisela, in one of the most beautiful and fun moments of the concert.
Apart from the concert, we can see a small exhibition of photographs, costumes and sets that are part of Gisela João’s 10 years and that made this concert even more unique. If you didn’t have the opportunity to be present for this excellent concert, you have another opportunity, in Porto, on January 27th at the Tram Museum, don’t miss it if you can.
The concert also included Toino Abel in Art Direction, Giovanna Luna Lucas in Production Direction, Luís Bastos in Lighting and Technical Direction, Álvaro Ramos in Sound and Zé Bi in stage sound. After Gisela’s concert, her friend Xinobi took the stage and continued the party well into the night.
