Global Wines wins multiple awards in leading national competitions
Global Wines has just seen some of its wines win awards in two leading national competitions: the Vinhos de Portugal 2025 Competition and Dão Primores – Harvest 2024.
In the competition promoted by ViniPortugal, the company based in Carregal do Sal won a total of 13 awards, being the most awarded in this edition of the Vinhos de Portugal Competition, where 1,300 references were evaluated.
Three Grand Gold (Encontro Baga Red 2019, Encontro 1 Red 2024 and Vinha de Saturno White 2019), five Gold (Casa de Santar Vinha dos Amores Encruzado White 2021, Casa de Santar Vinha dos Amores Sparkling Wine Encruzado 2017, Casa de Santar Vinha dos Amores Sparkling Wine Touriga Nacional 2017, Encontro 1 White 2017 and Encontro Sparkling Special Cuvée 2017) and five Silver (Cabriz 30 years Red 2014, Casa de Santar Vinha dos Amores Touriga Nacional Red 2019, Casa de Santar Outono de Santar 2022, Encontro Sparkling Reserve Brut 2016 and Saturno Reserva White 2021) was the result achieved, in this 12th edition of the competition, for the brands Casa de Santar and Cabriz (Dão), Quinta do Encontro (Bairrada) and Herdade Monte da Cal (Alentejo).
In the Dão Primores competition, organised by the Dão Regional Wine Commission and which distinguishes the best 2024 harvests from producers in the region, the Encruzado grape wine, produced by Global Wines, was considered “the great wine of Dão”.
Paulo Prior, director of oenology at Global Wines, states that “We could not be more satisfied with these results in these two national competitions, which demonstrate all the dedication and joint effort of our oenology, viticulture and sales teams, in successfully managing a legacy of tradition and quality in the different wine regions in which we operate, always respecting the terroirs and what consumers value and expect from each of our brands.”
