Gonçalo Oliveira passes first round in Cleveland challenger

Portugal’s Gonçalo Oliveira won the first round of the Cleveland tennis challenger today by defeating American Evan King in three sets with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 lead.

The Luso tennis player, currently 282nd in the world ranking, needed two hours and 20 minutes to overcome an opponent who occupies the 303rd place.

In the next round, Gonçalo Oliveira plays against the North American Marcos Giron, 15th seeded and 249th in the world hierarchy.
