The rich and diverse Thai gastronomic offer appears again in the Michelin Guide with 447 establishments in Bangkok, Phuket and Phangnga, Chiang Mai, Ayutthaya, Isan and two new additions: Ko Samui and mainland Surat Thani.
Among the new restaurants in Bangkok included in the guide are two Michelin stars with the restaurants Baan Tepa and Gaa Restaurant; six one-star restaurants, specifically INDDEE, NAWA, Samrub Samrub Thai, Mia, Resonance and Wana Yook, and a new MICHELIN Green Star – J’AIME by Jean-Michel Lorain.
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), highlighted that “TAT has developed a fruitful strategic partnership with the MICHELIN Guide since 2018, which has had a huge impact on Thailand’s tourism industry. The MICHELIN Guide, a reference gastronomic reference around the world, has contributed to placing Thailand as an international gastronomic destination”. The person responsible also adds that “a gastronomic experience in any of these restaurants listed in the recently launched edition of the MICHELIN Guide Thailand, adds value to the experience of travel for local and foreign tourists, making it an experience that is not only pleasing to the palate but also memorable and meaningful for the heart and soul.”
