HAIM announces new album, I Quit

Group to perform at Primavera Sound Porto festival on June 14

Rock trio HAIM recently announced the release of their fourth studio album, I Quit, set for June 20. The news was revealed during a series of surprise shows in Los Angeles at The Bellwether, after weeks of anticipation on social media.

Produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim, the 15-track album exudes the raw energy of seasoned artists whose deep reverence for classic rock shapes these songs, made to be performed live.

One of the most anticipated moments will be HAIM’s performance at Primavera Sound Porto festival on June 14. The presence of the sisters at the Portuguese festival promises to be one of the highlights of this year’s edition. Portuguese fans will thus have the opportunity to watch HAIM’s powerful performance live and hear first-hand some of the songs from the new album I Quit.

Accompanying the album announcement, HAIM has released the new single “Down To Be Wrong”, a confident ode to self-preservation. The song closes with the defiant message “Red lights are up ahead, but I keep walking”, reinforcing the assertive tone that characterizes this new work. The official video, directed by the duo Bradley and Pablo (known for their work with Harry Styles, Charli XCX and Rosalía), features a special appearance by actor Logan Lerman, adding a powerful visual dimension to this release.

“Down To Be Wrong” joins the album’s previous singles, “Relationships” and “Everybody’s Trying To Figure Me Out”, which received widespread acclaim from specialized critics. Pitchfork asked: “What is this sound? Is this the first song of the summer?”, while Vulture praised: “HAIM is back… they’re not taking anything too seriously, except the quality of what they put out into the world.” Rolling Stone was quick to point out that the song is “guaranteed to evoke the golden freedom of summer,” and Stereogum highlighted the return to the polished, hybrid sound that made HAIM so special.

I Quit marks HAIM’s first new album since 2020’s “Women In Music, Pt. III,” which earned the group a BRIT Award for Best International Group and two GRAMMY nominations, including in the prestigious Album of the Year category – making them the first female rock group to achieve that distinction. Their previous album debuted at No. 1 on the charts in both the U.S. and U.K., cementing HAIM’s status as one of the most relevant bands in contemporary music.

With the release of I Quit on June 20th and the performance at the Primavera Sound Porto festival on the 14th of the same month, 2025 promises to be a memorable year for HAIM fans, who will not only be able to enjoy the new material on record, but also witness live the evolution of the trio that continues to reinvent modern rock. The album is now available for pre-save, and tickets for Primavera Sound Porto are still on sale for those who want to secure their place at this special moment.
