Happy 75th BIRTHDay, Bob Marley
On February 8, 2020, at 11 pm, a concert in honour of Bob Marley, took place at the Timeout Studio, at Mercado da Ribeira.
[dropcap type=”background”]W[/dropcap]ith the performance of several bands, that transported us to the 70s and 80s, Bob Marley 75th BIRTHDay Celebration, hits like “Stand Up”, “One Love“, “Buffalo Soldier“, and “Is this Love” brightened up the night.
Bob Marley being a pacifist used his songs as a protest to defend social equality, for the environment and against the war.
On a night that was a celebration of the life and music of Bob Marley, the highest exponent of Jamaican Reggae, considered to be Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, would celebrate the 6th of February 2020, 75 years.
Bob Marley was considered by many to be the defending voice of the black and poor people of Jamaica, having been elected by the Rolling Stones magazine as the 11th greatest artist of all time.
With more than 7h of music and that counted with more than 25 national and international artists, of Jamaica came Eek a Mouse and Omar Perry son of the legendary Lee “Scratch” Perry.
Also present at Creole reggae diva, Nish Wadada, accompanied by the essential and world-famous support band Mafia & Fluxy that will arrive from the United Kingdom.

Orlando Santos and his band that took some guests, Freddy Locks, Gonçalo Sal (terrakota), Mr. Marley, Samantha Muleca, Loreta and Romi Anauel (ex. Terrakota) who took us on a beautiful journey through Bob Marley’s music.
And of course, in the between the bands time, we had the presence of Dj´s so that music and the “good vibes” were always present.
