In addition to the Christmas classics, the group also presents a tribute to the great Nina Simone!
The Harlem Gospel Choir, perhaps the most famous gospel group in the world at the moment, has already brought to Portugal tribute shows to music giants such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder or Whitney Houston, Adele, Beyoncé or Prince, composers and performers of the most then recognized that in the experienced voices of this group they also become authors of universal hymns capable of capturing the spirit of a very special time.
This year, the group honors one of the most iconic voices of all time, the voice that has become associated with the civil rights movement and that has inspired countless books and even movies – Nina Simone! There will be no shortage of the best-known songs by this North Carolina-born artist, with very special arrangements like only the Harlem Gospel Choir knows how to do. From “Feeling Good” to “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to be Free”.
This group, which has sung alongside or for people as important as Nelson Mandela, Pope John Paul II, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross, U2, and Gorillaz, among many others, has almost three decades of history, a relevant path that allowed them to collect many hits that now translate into an engaging show, capable of lifting the spirits and flooding any audience with peace.
