Herdade da Rocha opens the doors to the harvest in a perfect marriage with art

Alentejo wine press in an imposing and differentiated wine cellar is one of the proposals from the Alto Alentejo producer, which promotes the fusion between charm and nature.

The harvesting program of Herdade da Rocha, an Alentejo producer located in Crato, represents an irrefutable invitation to experience the production process of creating different, more mineral wines, which highlight the qualities of a characteristic terroir, marked by the granite soils of Alto Alentejo, next to the S. Mamede mountain range.

Participation in the most special moment of the wine year, scheduled for the last weeks of August and until the beginning of September, allows for differentiated contact with a paradisiacal setting, in which wine, nature, charm and art coexist in perfect harmony.

The broader experience includes an Alentejo wine press and a traditional lunch with wine pairing. This program lasts for five hours, between 10 am and 3 pm, starting with a visit to the vineyard and cellar and a snack in the vineyard with a tasting of two wines, before the unforgettable wine press in an imposing cellar, measuring two thousand square meters, decorated with graffiti in the area of winemaking and other works of art such as the solid wood doors, carved by Paulo Neves.

The traditional Alentejo lunch, presented by chef Adelina Coimbra, consists of a range of options including olive oil, olives and Alentejo bread or tomato soup with poached egg, stewed pork cheeks or lamb chops and Alentejo trilogy or fruit.

Visitors can opt for another proposal, taking place over two hours, which includes a visit to the vineyard and cellar and a tasting of Dueto wines with a presentation of the Terras & Terroir project.

About Herdade da Rocha

Herdade da Rocha, located in Crato, next to the S. Mamede mountains, launched its first harvest in 2012, two years before the construction of an imposing wine cellar, measuring two thousand square meters, decorated with graffiti. Currently, the producer puts white, red, rosé and single-varietal wines on the market from Alvarinho, Arinto, Alicante Bouschet and Syrah grapes. But Herdade da Rocha isn’t just about wine, it is also surrounded by a large olive grove, the inspiration behind the Boutique Lodge, which also features regional Alentejo gastronomy, walkways, a golf course and a charming hunting fence.
