On July 19, 20 and 21, the victory of the memorable Battle of 1808 will be celebrated at Vimeiro, with the fifth edition of the event “Historical Recreation & amp; Eighteenth Century Market”.
This event, which begins on Friday 19th, will gather in Lourinhã county several national and international groups for recreation, music, and dance, providing visitors with a set of various themed activities in a space illustrated in the nineteenth century with lots of animation, crafts, music, theater, and dance.
In this celebrated celebration will perform several musical groups, namely, the Group JAM.PT, the Cycle of Quintas and the group Galandum Galundaina. In addition, on Sunday afternoon, the Light Orchestra of the Army will be present, composed of five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones, two keyboards, two violas, drums, percussion, and three vocalists.
The Recreation will also count on the presence of several national and international recreation groups. As for Portuguese recreation groups, the Historical Reconstitution Group of the Municipality of Almeida (GRHMA), the Portuguese Association of Historic Recreation (Naval Artillery Brigade and War), the Culture and Recreation Association 13 September 1913 (Guerrilla de Montagraço) and the Historical Recreation Group of the Association for the Memory of the Battle of Vimeiro. As for the international groups, from France comes the group Effectif de la Musique de Saint-Lys and, from Spain, the groups Cultural Historical Urgull Association, Cultural Historical Association Volunteers of Madrid, Anadia Kultur Elkartea, Association of British Infantry Reg. 28 of Arroyo Molinos, 34th The Border Regiment of Arroyo Molinos, Association of Cultural Historical Recreation of Asturias (ARHCA) and the group Recreadores de Galicia. England will be represented by the group The Kings German Legion.
In the event, there will also be moments related to dance such as the Eight-Year Dance that will take place on Friday, July 19, at 10:00 p.m. and the Dance Workshop that will take place on Saturday, July 20, at 5:00 p.m. The 19th Century Dance, with live music, will be invigorated by the Battle Group of the Battle of Vimeiro.
Created in 2018, this group integrates with its repertoire historical dances and dances of European tradition.
