Honda Civic Type R Limited Edition is the official WTCR 2020 safety car
Presented in February at the Milan headquarters, the Civic Type R Limited Edition is one of two new versions to be added to the Type R range for 2020, being the most radical version of the iconic hatchback to be produced to this day.
Developed according to the Type R tradition and with track performance as its main focus, the Type R includes the same active safety and driving assistance technologies that have helped the Civic range to receive the best ratings in Euro NCAP tests.
The Type R Limited Edition Safety Car will have a resplendent decoration in conjunction with the exterior color ‘Sunlight Yellow’.
In addition to equipment that optimizes performance on the track, such as 20 ” BBS light alloy wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup-2 tires and modified shock absorbers, the Limited Edition’s emptied rear interior helps contribute to a 47kg weight reduction compared to the specifications of the Type R GT.
The Limited Edition maintains the powerful Type R 2.0-liter VTEC Turbo engine, which has a maximum power of 320hp at 6,500rpm and a maximum torque of 400Nm. The 0-100km / h (0-62mph) is reached in 5.7 seconds.
The decoration of the Civic Type R Safety Car is the work of Belgian artist Vanuf, who designed many of Honda’s official decorations for his racing cars.
