According to the most recent study inMarket2021, developed by multidados.com – the research agency, the Portuguese perfume brands of choice are Hugo Boss (25.9%), Calvin Klein (9.2%), Carolina Herrera (5.7 %), Paco Rabanne (5.7%) and DKNY (4.6%).
34.5% of Portuguese people buy perfumes once every three or four months. 73.0% of respondents reveal that the samples end up influencing the purchase, with 69.3% buying perfumes from the brands that are offered to them.
The Perfumes&Companhia store is the chosen place of purchase for 50.4% (offline purchases) and 32.2% (online purchases). This is followed by Sephora as a choice for offline shopping (10.4%) and Douglas for online shopping (8.5%).
The design has a lesser influence at the time of purchase, with only 27.6% highlighting this aspect, among which the Carolina Herrera (10.3%) and Invictus (9.8%) perfumes stand out.
The study was carried out online with a database of users registered on the multidados.com platform, between November 28, 2020 and January 28, 2021. inMARKET2021 – PERFUMES is carried out every two months to 1,000 Portuguese consumers of these products, allowing to compare the evolution of brand awareness and their preferences.
