Musician and composer Hugo Negrelli will present his new album, A March For Hackney, live on January 26th, at Casa da Cultura Jaime Lobo e Silva, in Ericeira; and February 18th, at Novo Ático – Coliseu Porto Ageas.
Recorded in London during the pandemic – where the musician moved to study and record – A March For Hackney represents a new chapter, with rocky-funky-pop songs with jazz elements, wind and string arrangements, and introspective themes such as searching, perdition and hope, among other narratives.
With music and lyrics by Hugo Negrelli, A March For Hackney was recorded at Livingston Studios and Vinicius Lima/Studio 13, in London, with Steve Pringle (organ and rhodes), Nick Walsh (bass), Paul Gregory (drums) and Emilie Dollerup (choirs) – musicians linked to the Incógnito projects, Michael Kiwanuka, David Gilmour, Jools Holland and Louis Cole.
The expected successor to Loose Frames Tales has as its lead single “Bring Me Home With You”, in rotation on Smooth FM. “A song where I explored new styles of writing, composition and genre. A song that came from a different place. It is a love song, open, however, to each person’s interpretation”, explains the musician.
Tickets for the concerts are now on sale at the usual places and online.
The video clip is directed by Joana Linda and was filmed at Tapada Nacional de Mafra.
