Idanha-a-Nova hosts international theater festival
Idanha-a-Nova hosts an international theater festival between Thursday and the 23rd, which is attended by nine companies from Portugal and Spain, announced today.
“In addition to Ajidanha, the organizing company, there are eight other theater companies from Avintes, Barcelos, Benedita, Cáceres and Castuera (Spain), Covilhã, Machico and Pombal, “the House of Idanha-a-Nova said in a statement.
The Ajidanha Theater Festival is organized by the company Ajidanha and by the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova.
In addition to the eight scheduled theater shows, the initiative also features exhibitions, cinema, magic and ‘stand up comedy’.
The start of the festival takes place on Thursday, with the screening of the film ‘Canção Raiana Perdida’, which highlights the sound roots of Beira Baixa and which will be shown at 9.30 pm at Centro Cultural Raiano (CCR).
On the same day, at 8:30 p.m., at the CCR, a photo exhibition was inaugurated by Fatex – Federación de Asociaciones de Teatro de Extremadura (Spain).
On Friday, the Machico Theater Group presents the ‘Farsa de Inês Pereira’ at the CCR and, the next day at the Teatro Ajidanha Studio, the Spanish group Serena Teatral presents the play ‘Con Los Pies Sangrantes’.
On Sunday, the Benedita Theater Group takes the CCR stage with the play ‘And Is Life Like Orchids?’ and the following day, the company ASTA – Covilhã exhibits in the Ajidanha theater studio the play ‘Paradjanov – The Celebration of Life’.
On the 18th, at the CCR, Capoeira – Companhia de Teatro de Barcelos presents the ‘Maltrapilhos’ and, at 19, the hall of the parish of Toulões receives ‘Ri-te, Rita’, a ‘stand up comedy’ with Rita Leitão.
A 20, Zé Mágico presents the ‘Farinha Mágica’ in the hall of the Parish of São Miguel de Acha and, at 21, the companies Ajidanha and De La Burla Theater exhibit ‘The Miserables’ at the Ajidanha Theater Studio.
On the 22nd day, the Amador de Pombal Theater company goes up to the stage of the party hall of Aldeia de Santa Margarida with the ‘Lusíadas?’.
The festival ends on the 23rd, at the Cultural Center of Ladoeiro, with the company Plebeus Avintenses that will display the play ‘Aqui Há Fantasmas’.
