The American pop-rock band came to Lisbon for a grand concert at Estádio da Luz in Lisbon. If it had been a football (soccer) match, it would have been a crushing defeat. It was a party, for a stadium full of fans, a festival of music, fire, smoke and paper.

Imagine Dragons were formed in 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada, consisting of vocalist Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon and bassist Ben McKee. They brought a list of hits with them, and after a short introduction, they sprinted through “Fire in these hills”, “Thunder”, “Bones, “Take me to the beach”, “Gun shots (Broiler Remix)” and “I’m sorry”.

Com o público em pé, a dançar e a seguir todas as coreografias que Dan ia fazendo em palco, foram muitos os momentos em que o estádio cantou em uníssono com a banda, foi um concerto magnífico.

Seguiram com “Whatever it takes”, “Next to me”, “I’ll bet my life”, “Bad Liar intro”, “Bad Liar”, “Chord”, “Radioactive” com um solo de bateria de cortar a respiração, “Demons” com Dan a abrir a canção a solo no piano, “Natural” e “Tightrope walking”.

Dan Reynolds was tireless, in fact, the whole band, but Dan didn’t stop the whole show, between the stage and the striker, who took him almost to the middle of the field, in a packed show of energy, always growing, the band took fans on an unforgettable journey.

Imagine Dragons mixes pop rock, electro pop, arena rock, alternative rock and indie pop. Although they started out as an indie rock band, their sound has evolved, incorporating electronic elements and a more pop style that wins over any audience.

It was with the release of the single “It’s Time”, followed by the debut album Night Visions in 2012, which included the hits “Radioactive” and “Demons”, that they gained visibility and prominence.

As the show came to an end, they said goodbye to the Light with “Sharks”, “Enemy”, “In Your Corner”, “Birds” and in unison with a conquered stadium, they sang “Believer”.

The first part was performed by Declan McKenna, an English singer and songwriter who gained prominence after winning the Emerging Talent Competition at the Glastonbury Festival in 2015. He mixes indie rock, indie pop, glam rock and neo psychedelia, with lyrics by social or political.
