IndieJunior festival grand prize attributed to ‘In My Room’

The documentary ‘In My Room’, by Israelite Ayelet Albenda, won the grand prize of the IndieJunior film festival, announced the organization of the event, which ends today in Oporto.

The jury of the international competition, composed by the writer Adélia Carvalho, the coordinator of the Educational Service of Casa da Música, Jorge Prendas, and the designer Wandson Lisboa, also awarded an honorable mention to the Norwegian animation ‘Laços’, by Toril Kove.

The public’s grand prize was given to “Mary and the Flower of the Witch,” by Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Giles New, while the School Jury awarded the New Zealander “Fire in the Card City” and delivered an honourable mention to “In My Room”.

“Among the millions of videos on Youtube are the diaries of six teenagers who decided to show the world how to live on their skin. Everyone chose the camera instead of writing a diary to tell their most amusing, sad, confusing stories and we’ve been following them for years through the videos they posted on YouTube – not youtubers, they’re not net stars, they’re just kids talking to anyone who’s willing to listen to them, “read the synopsis of “In my bedroom”, a film already awarded in the director’s home country.

Again with the sponsorship of Allianz, IndieJunior returned to Porto for the third edition, which ends today, with the novelty of programming Cinema de Colo for babies up to 03 years.
