Instagram and Messenger will have encryption in 2022
WhatsApp is currently the only Facebook messaging app with encryption but, according to the company, Messenger and Instagram Direct will soon join in the goal of providing users with a higher level of security.
Facebook plans to integrate end-to-end encryption into Messenger and Instagram Direct sometime in 2022, with the company not providing further details on this new feature unless it is a long-term project.
Encryption will help protect people’s private messages, meaning that only the sender and recipient, not even us, can access your messages.
