Integration of Facebook chat with Instagram has started
Facebook has already put into practice its plan to merge its application chats.
According to The Verge, several users, both Android and iOS, have started to receive notifications that inform about this merger. The message, sent on Instagram, indicated that, now, “you will be able to chat with friends who use Facebook”.
Now, instead of the classic paper plane icon, which represented direct Instagram messages, the Messenger logo appears. It is not yet possible to send messages to friends you have exclusively on Facebook but the introduction of this possibility may be coming soon.
The update also brought a more colorful aspect to the chat windows, and the option to respond directly to specific messages, as is already the case with WhatsApp.
The company has been talking for a long time about the possibility of unifying the chat systems of its apps, and WhatsApp may also be part of this integration process. One of the first steps taken in this direction was the introduction of an end-to-end encryption system in the chats of the three services.
This can also be a way for Facebook to be able to streamline the control and management of its chat solutions, especially at a time when scrutiny of its operations and decisions is increasing.
