The International Literary Festival of Querença (FLIQ), in the city of Algarve, where, on Saturday, the writer Gastão Cruz will be honored.
This is the internal edit to the FLIQ, that has to search prominent Algarve writers in the culture Portuguese to the typical complex of Querença, located inside the county of Loulé, so that the facts and the cultural spaces can be made outside the great centers urban areas and in territories called low density, said Marinela Malveiro, of the festival’s organizing committee.
Marinela Malveiro said that the festival, celebrated by the Manuel Viegas Guerreiro Foundation, this year has the theme “literature and illustration” and will “evoke as words in their most varied forms – sung, spoken, written – the objective of “drawing attention to the names that are born in the Algarve and that, by the world and the country, are taking the Portuguese language and the culture and are in fact maximum exponents of this culture”.
“The highlight goes to a tribute to Gastão Cruz, who is 50 years of his life dedicated to poetry, literary creation and writing, and in fact makes an assertion that the live is part of the FLIQ DNA,” said Member of the organizing committee, remembering that, in the first year, the highlight was for Casimiro de Brito and, in the second, for Teresa Rita Lopes.
An organizer who, at the same time, has the knowledge that “there is a tribute to Gastão Cruz in Querença – with the day to day, with exhibitions, conferences and readings” -, the Algarve became “the ideal place to formalize” This distinction, made on July 19, has now been shelved, “before family, friends and admirers.
“The Ministry of Culture, unlike Gastão Cruz with this medal of cultural merit, is seriado in Querença not during FLIQ, and is, therefore, thank you very much for the Manuel Viegas Guerreiro Foundation and, of course, the International Literary Festival of Querença “he added.
Marinela Malveiro also highlighted a participation in the festival of several international characters, among them Rayma Suprani, who was “censored in Venezuela and exiled in Miami” and will be present in Querença, or Cécile Bertrand, a party that will be in a ” lecture more thematic and linked to the illustration “.
The FLIQ runs until Sunday with several panels, exhibitions and concerts, counting on pre-selections of authors and masters, before finishing with the old film of Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins, at the conference on ‘Cultural Patrimony – Living Reality’.
