Irish Celtic much more than dancing the soul Ireland
Teatro Tivoli BBVA
Irish Celtic is the story of a pub, but it is also the story of Ireland to the beat of Irish dancing and fabulous music.
The Irish go to the pub for two reasons, explains the narrator, Paddy, in Portuguese, when they are thirsty and when they are not, and thus begins the story of this pub, which is mixed with the history of Ireland.
Its history dates back to the beginning of time, its interior contains legends and objects that testify to the history of the Emerald Island, from the time of the druids to the migration of the 19th century. Managed by Paddy Flynn for too many generations, it’s time for Diarmuid, his son, to take over, and here begins the story that Irish Celtic will tell us.
Between glasses of beer and whiskey and the sound of violins, bagpipes, accordions, and the traditional Celtic flutes (Tin Whistle), Paddy tells us the secrets of the Celtic people of Ireland.
With choreography by Denise Flynn and Jim Murrihy, former dancers of Lord of the Dance, Irish Celtic recreates episodes of this ancient culture, but still very much alive in Irish culture.
Among the broom dancing, in pairs or not, they all have tap dancing and fantastic music in common that conquered the audience for two hours, with a short break, where we are invited to go to the bar to taste a Guinness, sponsor of the show, and it is delicious.
Through the show, remarkable moments pass, such as the great famine in Ireland with more than 1 million deaths and 1 million immigrants who left for the USA, Canada, and the Republic of Liverpool, says Paddy jokingly, or the sinking of the Titanic, where many Irish people died, says the owner of the pub, but wherever they arrived, the pub was the place for the community to gather, dance and meet
Also part of the disputes to dance, where the dancers showed all their mastery.
Between music and dance, socializing is always accompanied by a drink, welcome to Ireland, accept the invitation, visit Irish Celtic, and meet Paddy and Diarmuid. As you discover Ireland’s traditions and legends through its dance and song, stay for a drink. A show with the signature UAU.
Sláinte (cheers)!!!
