Through song and dance, the talented artists of ‘Spirit or Ireland’ unlock the secrets of the Celtic people in Ireland.
The Irish production returns to Portugal for six shows full of rhythm, stories, legends, and Celtic traditions. On the 25th of May, the Coliseu Porto Ageas will be the stage for the “Irish Celtic”, a pub in Cork that serves as the setting for the homonymous show. From the 26th to the 28th of May, the Teatro Tivoli BBVA will be filled with the sounds of violins, bagpipes, accordions and traditional Celtic flutes. Tickets now on sale at Ticketline and at the usual places.
Paddy Fyln, owner of Irish Celtic – an Irish pub that has been in the family for several generations – is the narrator of this show. Between Irish humor, folk music, and traditional dances, Diarmuid, son and heir of space, describes the history of the oldest pub in Ireland, as well as the legends and objects that bear witness to the history of the Emerald Isle, from the time of the druids to nineteenth-century migration. All these elements make up the decoration of that typically Irish place, ensuring that the ancient culture survives the passage of time.
Denise Flynn and Jim Murrihy, former award-winning dancers from Lord of the Dance, are responsible for the choreography of the production “Irish Celtic”, which is directed by Toby Gough, an international award winner with shows in West End and on Broadway. Anthony Davis is the Musical Director of this show, filled with songs with explosive rhythms and inspired by the traditions of Celtic culture, which is as rich as it is ancient.
The Celtic people left marks and traces in Ireland and this legacy is part of the country’s historical richness. The musical show “Irish Celtic – Spirit of Ireland” is an epic to the people who make conviviality a way of life and the Pub is the epicenter of meetings and toasts with the so typical Irish beer and whiskey.
