The video for “Glória” premieres today and the single will be released this Friday, January 13th, the date on which it becomes available on all digital platforms.
It is the third single in anticipation of the new album of originals, “Invisível“, which will be released on March 24th. A very personal album for the artist that portrays the experiences of her recent life and reinforces the connection to writing and composition in Portuguese that began with “Agosto”, her first EP exclusively in Portuguese.
About “Glória”, the artist comments that “I wanted to write a song for my mother for a long time. “Glória” is not the first attempt but it was the first song in which I felt that I managed to tell her everything that I felt was most important for her to know, that she is “home”. As with any other gift that is offered, my focus was on trying to make her like it; this will guide the composition and much of the production choices”.
The video is directed by LaPelusa who describes it as “a road trip towards adventure. A moment to have the courage to put the outside world aside, take your hands off the wheel and go; let go of everything in search of reunion with our inner child and our most genuine essence. I wanted to create a light, colorful journey of exploration of the childhood universe that only allows itself to be carried away by breathtaking landscapes that reinforce the feeling of freedom”.
And this is precisely what emerges as the final result.
A video in which Isaura connects with her childhood, represented by Catarina Semide as “young Isaura”, and explores her childhood memories, namely those she lived with her mother, which she brings “in a fragile package” and, throughout her life, made her “know where she was going”.
“Glória” is a very different single from “Leve” and “Viagem”, the two singles released in 2022, revealing the diversity of themes, influences, and sounds that will be possible to find in “Invisível”, the new album of originals by Isaura which continues its work of reinventing pop, adding new layers and projecting it into the future.
