Istanbul hosts the Champions League final on May 29

UEFA confirmed on Thursday that the Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester City will take place in Istanbul, at Ataturk Stadium.

Turkey is currently in a period of total confinement, but the governing body of European football has left the guarantee that a match will take place in the Turkish capital on 29 May.

The seats at Ataturk Stadium are expected to have an attendance of around 40 thousand spectators, corresponding to about half the capacity (75 thousand seats), with UEFA sending for the next few days more data on the number of tickets it will make available to each team.
