AL SUD, the second and new restaurant at the Clubhouse of the Palmares Ocean Living & Golf resort, in Lagos, Algarve, with signature cuisine signed by the award-winning Chef Louis Anjos, is already open to the public.
In terms of fine dining, the menu of the new restaurant is characterized by being creative, eclectic and of superior quality, with several moments of tasting. A journey through the best that the Algarve has to offer, with a strong inspiration from the ocean. Al Sud is distinguished by the quality of the ingredients that make up the menu, the Chef’s savoir-faire and the idyllic setting in which it is located – in front of Lagos bay, on the right, and the Alvor estuary, on the left – which translate into a unique and exceptional gastronomic experience.
According to Chef Louis Anjos, who is also the curator of the Clubhouse restaurant and the restaurant at the Beach House Hotel de Palmares, at the same resort, AL SUD intends to “provide a sensory experience to those who visit it, so that they can take everything with them. this passion and remind us with a desire to return”. “I feel privileged to have available the best local products, such as oysters, razor clams and clams from the Algarve coast. The fish, which arrives from Lota de Sagres, very close to us, is also magnificent. Our Algarve prawns are also a product of unrivaled quality, just like other seafood, such as spider crab”, he adds.
Rabilho tuna accompanied by oysters from the Alvor estuary, oscietra caviar and granny apple or Iberian Pork Noodles with stew broth, Monchique corn and fine herbs are some of the dishes available on the menu, which also includes Sea Bass with Rice from the region. Vale do Sado, mussels and saffron or Carabineiro do Algarve with fatty bacon and codium.
The offer ranges from a menu with eight moments of tasting, from €69, to a menu of ten moments, from €90, to a menu with twelve moments, from €110. All these tastings can be accompanied by a complement of wine, whose prices vary between €35 and €60.
“AL SUD is the complement of fine dining to the Clubhouse Restaurant, which enriches the experience of visiting the resort of Palmares. This restaurant, facing south and overlooking the ocean, is distinguished by the quality of its products, its excellent service and, above all, the diversity of its dishes and tasting moments. In addition to being an asset for Palmares, being totally in tune with the resort’s distinctive positioning, it is also a sign of confidence and investment in the region, after an atypical start to the year for restaurants, tourism, and for the country”, explains Alda Filipe, Commercial Director of Kronos Homes in Portugal.
The AL SUD, located in the Resort’s Clubhouse, has a capacity for 24 people. It is open for dinner only, Wednesday through Saturday in June and Tuesday through Saturday in July and August, open by reservation only.
In addition to AL SUD, Palmares Ocean Living & Golf also has the Clubhouse restaurant, a space of strong local expression, with modern infrastructures, designed by the studio RCR Arquitectes, distinguished with the Pritzker Prize 2017, the most prestigious international award in the architecture.
With an equally breathtaking view of the sea, the Clubhouse’s restaurant has a capacity of 70 seats and is guided by a gastronomic offer of a Mediterranean nature, with a strong local expression and some international touches. Open every day serving lighter breakfasts, lunches and dinners, it is a meeting point not only for golfers, but for everyone who wants to enjoy the unique lifestyle of this exceptional seaside resort.
