Elon Musk announced through his Twitter page that the company has started accepting cryptocurrency payments.
Bitcoin paid to Tesla will remain Bitcoin, not converted to another currency. The Tesla leader indicated that, at the moment, this capability is only available in the US and that it will reach other markets by the end of the year.
The introduction of this payment method will certainly help Tesla to attract more customers, especially those who made a fortune recently investing in cryptocurrency.
Tesla is using only internal & open source software & operates Bitcoin nodes directly.
