Italy was the winner of the Eurovision Grand Final. Voices from 26 countries echoed in the Rotterdam arena, with the usual brilliance around the songs.
Italian rock group Maneskin won the contest thanks to a public vote and the country will host the Festival next year. French singer Barbara Pravi came in second with the song “Voilà” – a historic result for the country. Switzerland finished third and the Portuguese The Black Mamba were in 12th place.
After being canceled for the first time last year due to the sanitary situation, the Eurovision festival returned to giving music, with 3500 fans in the audience and many more at home.

The 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, which has been held annually in Europe since 1956, should have taken place in May last year, in Rotterdam, but the European Broadcasting Union decided to postpone it for one year, considering that they were not conditions for its realization have been met because of the pandemic.
Portugal participated in the Eurovision for the first time in 1964, having, however, missed five editions (in 1970, 2000, 2002, 2013, and 2016). Between 2004 and 2007, inclusive, and in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2019, the passage to the final failed. The victory, for the first and only time, was achieved in 2017, with the theme ‘Loving for both’, performed by Salvador Sobral and composed by Luísa Sobral.
