Ivan Domingues confident of improving in the Sprint Race of the Bahrain Grand Prix

Ivan Domingues achieved the 23rd fastest time in qualifying for the Sprint Race of the Bahrain Grand Prix, the second round of the FIA Formula 3 World Championship.

In a super competitive context, with 30 drivers separated by a second and a half, the young driver from Leiria was reducing the gap to the fastest.

In the end, he said he has the pace to achieve a better result in tomorrow’s race.
In his debut year in Formula 3, Ivan Domingues continues his process of adaptation and learning in one of the most competitive categories today.

The Van Amersfoort Racing driver posted the 24th fastest time in free practice, where he looked for the best Dallara settings for the Sakhir circuit. “A session with good sensations, in which we chose to run with more gasoline and heavier weights because the objective was to accumulate laps on the track”, explained Ivan Domingues.

In the classification, the Portuguese achieved the 23rd time, 1.1 seconds behind the fastest, which was the championship leader Rafael Câmara, with 1,49,214 m. “In the afternoon, already in qualifying mode, we felt that we could have taken a lap with more potential, we didn’t have the opportunity, but we feel that the pace is here. Now it’s time to continue evolving in the race”, said the Portuguese driver.
