Ivan Domingues, Portuguese rookie at the FIA Formula 3 World Championship, finished this Friday a three-day series of official tests on the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain, continuing the adaptation to the new car and category, given the next stage of the calendar, precisely the Bahrain Grand Prix, which will take place between April 11 and 14.
The young Leirian makes a very positive assessment of the three working days.
“We arrived at the first race of the time in Australia, with few laps performed in official tests, especially for the hydraulic problems we had in Barcelona, so this opportunity in Bahrain was very important, not only to accumulate kms on track and get to know the car better, but also to adjust some tuning at the technical level. The balance is very positive. The sensations with the car are better, we took a few more steps to shorten distances to the fastest and now we go to the second race of the season, in two weeks, hoping to put this good evolution on track,” says Ivan Domingues, who over the three days turned 195 laps, fixing his best time at 1:49,251, to 1 second of the fastest.

Ivan Domingues (Leiria, 5/5/2006) began at Karting, inspired by his father and brother, when he was only 8 years old. At the age of 9, he participated in the first Portuguese championship. He won the Karting Cup of Portugal and was Vice National Champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019. At the age of 14, he moved to Italy to professionalize his training and make the jump to Formula 4. Last season, in 2024, already in FRECA (European Regional Formula by Alpine), he stood out as one of the best debuts (two podiums and best rookie in 3 races).
