Ivan Domingues debuts at the Monaco Grand Prix

This weekend, Ivan Domingues will be competing in a race in Monaco for the first time. The fourth race of the Formula 3 World Championship will take place at the historic circuit, as part of the Formula 1 World Championship program and in front of the usual luxury crowd.

In what is one of the most demanding races of the season, the rookie from Leira will continue his adaptation to a competition with 30 identical single-seaters on the track, and which has had four different winners in six races, which shows the level of competitiveness of Formula 3 today. The narrow streets of the Principality are a challenge for the drivers, so on this circuit, the classification is even more decisive for the final result. In the last two years, the driver in pole position has won the race.

“This race is my debut in Monaco, one of the biggest stages in world motorsport. It will be special and, above all, a great challenge. It is a race where the walls dictate the law, and mistakes and collisions are heavily penalised. With 30 cars on the track, the race can be a fight for survival. But that is how Formula 3 is, and our learning process also had to go through here. I can’t wait for this opportunity,” said the driver from the Van Amersfoort Racing team.

Free practice sessions will take place this Thursday. Due to the characteristics of the circuit, Friday’s qualifying will be divided into two groups of 15 drivers.
