Just one week after Monaco, the FIA Formula 3 World Championship is back, with the Spanish Grand Prix, the fifth round of the calendar, taking place in Barcelona.
After the bittersweet taste of the Principality (he achieved the best classification of the season, but then had two races marked by incidents), Portuguese rookie Ivan Domingues returns to the competition focused on continuing to improve his pace and experience.
“The good news from Barcelona is that we arrived at a track where, in principle, it is possible to run and improve by doing laps, which is not always possible in Monaco, especially when we have 30 cars on the track, as is the case in F3. Monaco, as the Formula 2 and Formula 1 races have shown, can be quite punishing, and unfortunately, we didn’t have the best luck. But I felt very good in qualifying, I feel that it is possible to go further, and the process is always the same: maintain confidence and try to improve in the next race. It is with this spirit that we go to Barcelona, to continue growing, in this debut season in F3”, says Ivan Domingues.

About Ivan Domingues
Ivan Domingues (Leiria, 5/5/2006) started karting, inspired by his father and brother, when he was just 8 years old. At the age of 9, he participated in the first Portuguese championship. He won the Brazilian Karting Cup and was National Vice-Champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019. At the age of 14, he moved to Italy to professionalise his training and make the leap to Formula 4. Last season, in 2024, already in FRECA (Formula Regional Europe by Alpine), he stood out as one of the best rookies (two podiums and best rookie in 3 races). In 2025, he made the jump to the FIA Formula 3 Championship, one of the main antechambers to Formula 1, to complete the full season with the prestigious Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR), thus becoming the first Portuguese in the category in 12 years. His role models are Ayrton Senna and Max Verstappen. In addition to cars, he is passionate about sports and animals.
