Ivan Domingues is at Silverstone to compete in the seventh round of the Formula 3 World Championship.
The Portuguese rookie is making his racing debut on the English circuit, which is famous for its high-speed corners. Ivan Domingues says: “It will be very special to race and experience the F3 weekend on a track with so much history”.
The drivers return to the track this weekend to compete in the British Formula 3 Grand Prix. Silverstone is a fantastic circuit, with a unique atmosphere, and one of the drivers’ favourites because it is extremely fast – the ´pole position´ in 2024 was achieved at an average speed of over 200 km/h – and has very technical and difficult corners to negotiate. Performing a perfect lap at Silverstone is a unique moment in any driver’s career.
Ivan Domingues, 19, is the only Portuguese to participate in this important discipline that provides access to Formula 1, with 30 drivers fighting for a position in races of great excitement and intensity, and which have already had seven different winners in 12 races. The young driver from Leiria feels that he is prepared and confident for what lies ahead. “I arrive at Silverstone completely focused on continuing my growth process and taking solid steps in my evolution. In Austria, the challenges with the car were great from the first day. I was always conditioned due to some problems, but the team is working so that I can be more competitive. Silverstone is a true racing mecca, it will certainly be very special to race and experience the F3 weekend in a venue with so much history. I am focused on giving my best”, emphasises Ivan Domingues.

About Ivan Domingues
Ivan Domingues (Leiria, 5/5/2006) started karting, inspired by his father and brother, when he was only 8 years old. At the age of 9, he participated in the first Portuguese championship. He won the Brazilian Karting Cup and was National Vice-Champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019. At the age of 14, he moved to Italy to professionalise his training and make the leap to Formula 4. Last season, in 2024, already in FRECA (Formula Regional Europe by Alpine), he stood out as one of the best rookies (two podiums and best rookie in 3 races). In 2025, he made the jump to the FIA Formula 3 Championship, one of the main antechambers to Formula 1, to complete the full season with the prestigious Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR), thus becoming the first Portuguese in the category in 12 years. His role models are Ayrton Senna and Max Verstappen. In addition to cars, he is passionate about sports and animals.
