The awards ceremony takes place on November 10, in Manchester, and the voting period opens on October 8.
He was previously nominated in 2022 for the category “Best Portuguese Act,” and now Ivandro sees his name again on the shortlist for the MTV European Music Awards (EMA). This year, the Luso-Angolan singer and songwriter is nominated again for the award of “Best Portuguese Artist,” precisely in the year he released his debut solo album.

After a series of national awards, international recognition is knocking at his door again at a time when his success seems more than consolidated. Since 2019, he has been releasing hits and accumulating millions of listens on streaming platforms and thousands of spectators in the venues he performs, and his first full-length album under his own name came to culminate an unparalleled journey in the Portuguese music scene.
Trovador, the album that premiered in February of this year, has already surpassed the milestone of 100 million listens on its respective platforms, quickly achieving the status of Platinum Record. Alongside the famous songs such as “Essa Saia,” “Moça,” “Lua,” “Como Tu,” or “Chakras,” which have captured the Portuguese audience, there are two dozen tracks in an album full of significant collaborations.
The most recent crossover between stars occurred in “Perfume,” a song revealed for the first time at the Estádio do Restelo, during the Numanice international tour led by Ludmilla last September. At the special invitation of the Carioca star, Ivandro took to the stage not only to perform the new collaboration between them — which at this point, in the audiovisual version captured during that concert and made available on YouTube a couple of days ago, has already accumulated over 100,000 views — but also to perform “Lua” and “Chakras” solo.
