Campo Pequeno received sold out, the British band, James, toasted the Portuguese public and not only with their best-known songs but also some new ones, on the first day of normality, it was not necessary to wear masks, and the joy was in everyone’s face.
Surma was the first to enter the Campo Pequeno stage, to warm up the room with her compositions even with the public arriving, followed by The Slow Readers Club, the band that accompanied the James on their tour, and which quickly conquered the public that already filled the Lisbon room.
But it was with James that the room exploded with joy, the band that gave its first concert in 1982 in Manchester, continues to betray an avalanche of fans, as you can see in Campo Pequeno, with fans dancing, singing, happy to have this mythical band back, and especially without the obligation to wear a mask, although some still not convinced with the regained freedom, had kept it.
It was with a “good night, Lisbon!” by guitarist Saul Davies, who has lived in Porto for many years, greeted the audience on this return, the James then took the audience on a musical journey through their hits, with Tim Booth remembering, the war in Ukraine, but also the last time was in Campo Pequeno “you broke it all…“.
