The year 2023 begins with intense activity at the Centro Cultural de Belém. Orchestral music will have particular emphasis, whether with the Seventh Symphony by Anton Bruckner by the Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, with the performance of the Young National Orchestra of Spain, or with the music of El Amor Brujo de Falla, by the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa.
This month also premieres the opera Paraíso by Nuno da Rocha, which will inaugurate the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the CCB.
Baroque music will receive special attention with Concerto de’ Cavalieri and maestro Marcello Di Lisa, accompanied by soprano Carolyn Sampson, who will outline the most important moments in the career of opera diva Faustina Bordoni.
This month we also host the show Catarina and the beauty of killing fascists, by Tiago Rodrigues, chosen by The New York Times as one of the best theater plays in Europe in 2022.
