JETHRO TULL returns to Portugal
October 10th at the Guimarães Multipurpose Center
With a discography spanning around two dozen original albums and dating back to 1968, Ian Anderson’s Jethro Tull is a true institution of British rock, having played a range of styles throughout their extensive career, from blues-rock to jazz fusion, later crossing over into folk, heavy and even classical music to create their vision of what became known as progressive rock or symphonic rock, a movement of which they are one of the exponents.
The legendary group, which currently consists of frontman Ian Anderson and musicians such as bassist David Goodier, keyboardist John O’Hara, drummer Scott Hammond and guitarist Joe Parrish, remains active live and in the studio, having released a new album, The Zealot Gene, in 2022. A dozen live works also reinforce the fact that Jethro Tull has always been an acclaimed force on stage, a fact that has earned them bows from many of their peers, from Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden to Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and even Nick Cave.
With several critical and commercial successes, such as the classics “Thick as a Brick”, “A Passion Play” or “War Child” and “Songs From The Wood”, Jethro Tull forged a unique identity that marked and continues to mark generations.
Don’t miss it, on October 10th, at Multiusos de Guimarães!
