Jo Koy, one of today’s leading stand-up comedians, arrives in Portugal in 2024 to take the stage at Sagres Campo Pequeno on May 15th.
Tickets are on sale on December 15th at 10 am, at the usual locations and everythingisnew.pt.
With a long way to go, Koy has come a long way from his humble beginnings operating in a Las Vegas coffee house. His unique and easily identifiable comedy is inspired by his colourful family, reaching all types of people, and resulting in sold-out shows in theatres around the world.
In 2022, Koy kicked off his “Funny Is Funny” world tour, selling out the Climate Pledge Arena (14,000+ tickets) in his hometown of Seattle, and capped it off with a sold-out show at the Tacoma Dome (19,000+ tickets). Today, it continues to break sales records at some of the world’s most prestigious venues, including the Mall of Asia Arena (Manila, PH), The Forum (Los Angeles), Coca-Cola Arena (Dubai), ICC Theater (Sydney, AU ), Radio City Music Hall (New York) and FTX Arena (Miami), among others. Last November, Koy sold out Madison Square Garden for the first time, marking another milestone in the comedian’s career. In 2017, Koy broke the record for the most tickets sold by a single artist in Honululu, with 23,000 tickets and 11 sold-out shows at the Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall. In response, the Honolulu mayor’s office proclaimed November 24 “Jo Koy Day.”
Most recently, Koy starred in the Universal Pictures film “Easter Sunday.” The comedy is based on the comedian’s life experiences and stand-up.
His highly anticipated fourth Netflix stand-up special, “Live From The Los Angeles Forum,” premieres globally in September 2022. The special is a follow-up to his other 2019 Netflix special, “Comin’ In Hot.” He has also released four highly successful stand-up specials on Comedy Central and Netflix. In June 2020, the comedian released his first variety special, “Jo Koy: In His Elements”, on Netflix, in which Koy provides laughter and rhythm in Manila, highlighting local culture in a unique show with comedians, DJs and B -Filipino-American boys.
In 2021, Jo Koy released his first autobiography, “Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo”, with Harper Collins Publishers, well received by critics. In this memorable and moving autobiography, Koy reveals the stories behind his stand-up: the conflict, the drama, and the laughter as he struggles to find his place in the entertainment industry, at home, and in the wider world.
In 2018, he received the prestigious “Stand-Up Comedian of the Year” award at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, and in 2019, Jo Koy reached number one on the Billboard charts with his stand-up album “Live From Seattle”.
Now, Jo Koy is preparing to bring his “European Tour” to Sagres Campo Pequeno on May 15, 2024.
