Joana Alegre releases the album “Centro”

Joana Alegre realized early on that music and poetry would inevitably be part of her life. “Centro” is her second album of originals, from which she has already revealed two singles: “Joana do Mar” (a theme she made known at the Festival da Canção 2021, where she participated as an author and performer, reaching the final) and “Caçula” (released in May 2021).

Joana presented “Canção do Instante”, the business card of “Centro” – a meeting between the artist Joana Alegre (author of the song and lyrics) and Luísa Sobral (producer of the record). The album navigates through 12 themes with such distinct sounds that translate the artist that Joana Alegre is now. In her words:

At the beginning of everything we imagine a Center, we sense this magnetism of something that unites us all: the Earth’s core where the magma boils, the core of a flower, the Sun, the essence and memory of what we are in the spiral of our DNA , the present in the center of time, between the past and the future. Everything has a center, of origin and return, or simply that it can only be and be. center that flourishes and where it is reborn in this space-time and place where we can inhabit what we are, fully free and in peace.

Joana Alegre is back with “Centro“, an album of encounter and affirmation, as well as healing. Each song, always written in Portuguese, alludes to a natural healing process and intends to show us how we are, with all serenity and certainty, and at peace with all our “imperfections“.
