João Almeida, third in the classic Milan-Turin
The Portuguese cyclist won third place in the Milan-Turin race, in the distance of 190 km starting in Magenta and finishing at the Basilica of Superga, with Primoz Roglic winning the race.
The race had 161 riders at the start and was very tactical, Deceuninck-Quick Step put six of the seven riders on a run, with a very strong pace, leaving the peloton totally fragmented.
The dubious duo of Superga was decisive for the selection of the strongest, with Adam Yates (IGD), Primoz Roglic, João Almeida and Tadej Pogaçar (UAD) making the difference, Roglic and Yates would eventually distance themselves in the last two kilometres of the oldest classic in the world, João Almeida, would end up beating on the final risk, Pogaçar, conquering the bronze.
