João Sousa eliminated in the first round of French Open

The Portuguese tennis player João Sousa, along with Argentinean Leonardo Mayer, was eliminated in the first round of the French Open in 2019 after losing to Finn Henri Kontinen and Australian John Peers.

In the encounter with the eighth seed of that variant, Sousa and Mayer had no great chances, having lost by double 6-4 in an hour and 16 minutes.

Juan Sousa, a national number one and ranked 70th in the world ranking, had already been dismissed in the first round of singles on Monday, losing to Pablo Carreño Busta, 57th in the ATP hierarchy, 6-3, 6-1 and 6-2.
