João Xavier wins the Interpretation Competition at the Estoril-Lisboa Festival

João Xavier won the 22nd Interpretation Competition at the Estoril-Lisboa Festival, with a cash value of 3,000 euros and possibilities for various performances.

The winner will also have the opportunity to perform in concert with an orchestra at the 48th Estoril-Lisbon Festival, which takes place next year, and also with the Portuguese Symphonic Orchestra in the 2022/23 season.

In 2022, the pianist will participate in Cistermúsica – XXVIII Alcobaça Music Festival, and will make a recording for RTP/Antena 2.

This victory opens doors for João Xavier to perform at the Centro Botín, in Santander, Spain, next year, and to play with the Philharmonic of Vilnius, in Vilnius, in the 2021/22 season, and also participate in the Emilia Romagna festivals , in Italy, next year, as well as in Varna, in Bulgaria, in 2022, in Artlink in Belgrade, in the 2021/2022 season of the soloists of Zagreb and performing with the Sonor Ensemble, in Madrid.

João Xavier, 26, is currently studying at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, in Moscow, with Eliso Virsaladze.
